Sound Resource runs fun, inclusive, participatory singing sessions with adults in Oxfordshire. Watch the videos below for a brief synopsis of what we aim to achieve.

We also have Moving Music Concerts under our banner. To find out more on MM, watch a short video detailing what MM is about or when the next concert is, go to the Moving Music tab on the menu to see “What’s On” or click one or both of the following links.

Professor Adam Ockelfield has been collaborating with us for many years, accompanying his pupil/mentee the brilliant pianist Derek Paravicini to perform for Moving Music. He has also been part of the development of a new multimedia resource Take Note, providing 100 ideas for musical activities that carers can use to enrich the lives of older people and those living with dementia. The ideas are drawn from research and are presented as strategies that can be used in everyday life by both non-music specialists and music practitioners.

Included in the resources on the Take Note website is a short film from Moving Music concerts, with Derek Paravicini performing, and including some of our wonderful audience and volunteers. You can watch it here:

The charity provides:

  • regular sessions for people with lung conditions
  • weekly sessions for adults in partnership with local housing associations and arts centres.  Find out more about our singing sessions.
  • Dementia-friendly sessions
  • consultancy on the benefits of singing for wellbeing
  • Training for organisations wanting to build staff confidence in facilitating singing as part of their delivery roles.

We are exploring innovative ways of running integrated sessions and are currently working with local groups to deliver performances to the community
